Is there a separation of development, test and production servers, and if so, how is this designed?

DANS uses an DTAP-street. The production server is the only server linked to the data. The other servers work with test data. 

For DataverseNL, new/adapted code is first deployed on the Acceptance server, and then tested by the local administrators of the institutions. Additionally, there is a demo server for testing and training purposes.
